I did get to watch the heavyweight at Devils Lake this past weekend from Cavalier. He was very impressive and just overpowers everyone. He made the finals matchup look easy.

Luv2pin you are right the Cavalier Hwt Micth Greenwood impressed me 2 I think that he is sending a message to the state that he isn't the 4th or 5th best hwt he is 1st or 2nd It would be a sight to see when him and crocker face off. They both are Power Houses In Greenwood though I HAVE NOT SEEN A FLAW in his style and I've seen him twice now in Rugby Rolla and Devils Lake he seems to excute magnificently taking full advantage of his opponents mistakes although I did here that Crocker defated him twice last year both times they wrestled should be a fun match to see please post the results of the match as soon as possible

i've been looking through the tourny results/dual results and so far this is what it looks like so far-
Greenwood: Undefeated as far as i can see but he has only really beaten one good HWT in class "B" this year, but as far as i can see on this website his match w/hassler which he won 9-5 is the only match he's had go past the first period... most don't look to go past a minute
Crocker: 2 losses, one to Tyler Doeling, and one to Kyle McCleary, however he has also beaten both of these wrestlers this season too, he also has beaten hassler and he's beaten Nick Bonnet from West Fargo who beat McCleary in the rotary (double OT)
Hassler: it looks to me like his only losses in class B is to Greenwood in Rugby, and Crocker who beat him way back @ the carrington Duals at the beginning of the year, that weekend he also beat Doeling and McCleary, he also beat McCleary this weekend in the finals of East West tourny. He has also lost to Duane Martin Jr. early in the season who does seem to be one of the better Class "A" HWTS
McCleary: He has beaten Crocker once, also lost to him once, so who would be ranked higher? Crocker- he's beaten hassler, hassler has beaten McCleary twice (carrington duals and e/w tourny) McCleary has also beaten Doeling a couple times, but if i recall right one of those matches went into OT... maybe it was 2OT?
Doeling: He's lost a lot of matches this year... but a lot of em seem to be close, or could have easily gone in his favor... he DOES however have a first period pin over Crocker (anyone know how that happened? i'm guessing a throw of somesort that put crocker on his back) but Doeling is a tough kid, he'll probably do his best wrestling of the year in the next few weeks to come.
these are my top 5 picks (not in order) does anyone have any other names to throw in here? Nick Timm from Hettinger is mentioned on the Pre-season polls but that's just about the only place i've seen him mentioned? any word on him?

Here are my rankings as I feel they should be at the state tournament, as most of the tourneys are done this year: 1. Greenwood 2. Crocker 3. Hassler 4. McCleary 5. Doeling 6. Timm 7. LaRock 8. ? Greenwood is undefeated, Crocker has beaten everyone below him, but also has lost to a couple, Hassler has a loss to Greenwood and Crocker, McCleary has a lot of losses, including two to Hassler, and one to Crocker.

I see on the NDHSAA webpage that Cavalier duals Hillboro thursday! Crocker Vs. Greenwood will be the rematch of last year's region 2 HWT championship, and most likely the preview to this year's and who knows could be the state title preview also! it would definately be worth the price of admission to watch, and not only for that match, it should be a GREAT dual! its obviously a BIG match as far as getting a team regional seed! a couple other BIG matchups will be @171 when Nick Baker and Jarred Mueller go at it, the last state polls had them listed as #3 adn #5! Dustin Nagel and Ben fisher ought to be a good one at 130 and at 160 David Berg and Joey Busse will have a good match! Good Luck to both teams! i hope i can make it there thursday, and i hope if anyone else out there can make it that they go! it will be a fun atmosphere

I see that Hettinger and carrington were both at the East West classic... how did Nick Timm and Tyler Doeling do? did they wrestle for 3rd place? who did they lose to? hassler or mccleary?

Doeling lost to McCleary 1-0 in OT, gave up an escape with 7 seconds left. Hassler was losing to Timm 4-1 but headlocked him with about :35 seconds left in the match and stuck him. Doeling pinned Timm in :23 seconds for 3rd place.

As it stands right now, I would agree with xbox with the rankings except I do feel that Hassler should be ranked 2nd then Crocker. Hassler is a much more aggressive wresltler. New Salem was a great tourney. Someone please explaine the rules of an official take down when the wreslter being taken down is out of bounds, but the wrestler taking him down is in bounds. I know there was a lot of displeasure from the crowd when Hassler was not awarded take down points 2 different times for a situation like the above, but at the Carrington Duals Doeling did not get take down points 2 different times either for the same situation. However I have been at matches where take down points were awarded for same situation. I know someone will explain.

Crocker and Greenwood will meet tonight in Hillsboro, and I would not miss it for anything in the world! It will be the highlight of the night. I predict that Crocker will win. He is a great kid, with SUPER parents. He works hard and hopefully will come out on top tonight. GO NICK!

Ready to rumble, you were right. Crocker won, but if i was him iwouldn't be too proud of that victory! and Greenwood if you read this i want you to know that i was at the match, i'm not from Cavalier or Hillsboro and i don't favor either team over the other but you got screwed over! you were the aggressor the whole third period!
Match Summary: First period 0-0... Second Period 1-0 Crocker, and Greenwood got a Warning for stalling, looked to me though as if crocker should have got one as well!!!!!..... Third period, Greenwood got an escape in under 10 seconds! and proceeded to WORK throughout the match, he NEVER once backed up except a few times when crocker went in to try to grab a leg and he had to sprawl. then w/16 seconds left in the match the referree called a HORRIBLE stalling call on Greenwood and decided the final outcome! it was horrible.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that Greenwood would have won but he sure should NOT have lost like that! when you have 2 of the best wrestlers in the state battling it out let them determine the outcome, not a ref! espially on a call like that! Nonetheless congrats to Nick Crocker and GOOD LUCK to both individuals the rest of the season!

Crocker should be VERY proud of his victory! The score was 2-1 in favor of Crocker. Each wrestler scored 1 point for an escape, and Crocker was awarded 1 point because of stalling on the part of Greenwood. Greenwood was given a warning , but continued to stall throughout the 3rd period. It was a great match to watch, and it will be fun to see what happens out at State.

Well, two very different views of the stalling call in the third period. Bull says Greenwood was working throughout the entire third period while BlueBetty says Greenwood stalled throughout the third period. Wonder what really happened.....
Anyway, congrats to Nick Crocker on his win. Can't wait to see this weight at state!!!
