One of the most dominant wrestlers in class "B" that I've seen (along with the likes of Labor and Lennick) is another Black Cat at 125lbs. Chris Chase has 2 losses on the season, one coming to Shane Haas of Harvey where he was extremely wild and was pulled to his back 2 times (for 10 pts) in the first tournament of the year. Score ended up being 16 - 13. After this tournament Haas ended up going down to 119 lbs so there was no chance of a rematch. The other one coming to Nathan Meidinger of Hettinger. In this match Chase was mauled; this possibly being attributed to his early on "Miracle" dieting techniques where he dropped 7lbs that day to make weight. Otherwise his season has been dominant beating Juntunen(sp) of Bowman 4 times (2 majors I believe, one pin, and one decision). Also beaten Sauby of Carrington w/major decision in the finals of the East-West. Chase surely will come out on top in the State tournament if he keeps his focus, and being a sophomore will be one to watch in the future.

TA and LUV2PIN you both are right on the money. But you forgot a few:
Class B Mayo from Hillsboro at 171 another 171lber from Killdeer Seth Murphy looked good at the east west and I really think Mellmer from Dickinson needs to be mentioned.... (only a junior will be back again next year).

What happened to Mellmer anyways? With Mellmer out of the state meet the door is wide open for the 25#er from West Fargo. Is Sebelius really that good or is the 125 class a little weak this year? It just seems like he has very little competition compared to the top rated guys in other weights. I expected Stockert to wrestle him tougher but it didn't happen.

Dr Suess Mellmer is definitely out for the season. He fractured his collarbone in 2 places. ouch. This was a very tough break for one of the toughest wrestler in state. You are right on when you said that it leaves the door wide open. Sebelius - west fargo has got to be the front runner with stockert - bis high second. Others to contend with will be Krumm - St. Marys Another twist I heard was that Neigum from Bis Century would have a legimate shot at a title if he moves to 125. He would be the #1 seed coming in to state. Interesting> out

That is interesting about Neigum. In my opinion I think he should do it, but dont you have to wrestle a certain amount of matches at that weight for the year. I dont know, maybe Neigum has wrestled some at 25. Thanks for the info! this message forum is pretty neat. I'm a member on the Guillotine forum also, but this one is cool. MN wrestlers don't respect the ND wrestlers so I get crap from them sometimes.

I think you have to wrestle half your matches at the weight you compete at Regionals??? Sebeilus is tough. Neigum might have a little trouble contending with that extra muscle, but it would be interesting to see. Anyone see Milo Trusty taking over at Mandan......that's who my money is on...Betcha that's a program that will do a 180deg turn if it happens. Mayo from Hillsboro.....he is tough.......(weakest weight class in state B............140 lbs.......) Frazee will have there best team ever next year for Minnesota.

I believe you can move up at any time before regionals. If you want to move down half of your matches have to be at the the lower weight. I don't believe Joey will go up. Who thought this up anyway?

THIS IS JOEY NEIGUM AND I AM NOT GOING TO MOVE UP TO 125. I HAVE WRESTLED ALL YEAR AT 119 AND THAT IS WERE I WILL STAY FOR THE STATE TOURNAMENT!

Hi Joey! Thanks for clearing that up and good luck with Lang in the finals. You can beat him, you have better technique.

125 is wide open.
Will Krumm be able to go down there though? How many times has he been down there this year, has to be at least 1/2.

I don't think Krumm can or will drop to 125.

Although Eric Sabot is the most dominating wrestler in the state, the most physically imposing is Wahpeton 215 pounder Garrett Thompson. For the Class B fans that have not seen him, picture the cover of Muscle and Fitness. He has come out of nowhere this year because he has had serious injuries that last two years, but anyone that saw him get first period pins over Hoag and Silbernagle in the Rotary knows that he is the real deal. (His loss in the final to a tough hombre from Montana in a match Thompson was dominating was a fluke.) Sand from Ellendale gave him a decent match and Thompson looked labored at the end of his Region final, probably because he has not had many matches go a full three periods. (He has over 30 pins.) So, if Hoag, Lack, or Silbernagle stay off the train tracks for four minutes, they have a shot--just like Bastings semi-final win over Mellmer last year.--Speaking of, what a tough break for the Dickinson 125 pounder. Once our next David Hilliard, now hopefully, he has an injury free last two years.

i don't think neigum has a better technique than lang. if so then why has he not beat him this year. neigum is a great wrestler, but come on, better technique, what are you talking about?

Neigum has only one advantage & that is that he is a senior, Lang has beat him soundly very time they have wrestled this year. Maybe having Uncle Troy in town to train him (Neigum) this week will help also. I have to go with Lang.
