This is coming down to the wire for the #1 seed in the West. Thursday nite 7pm Mountain time. in Dickinson. The word from Dickinson is get there early because the gym will be packed full. Be ready for alot of fireworks and hoopla. BHS is trying to get a pep bus together to send as many fans as possible. Look at the Match-ups: 103 - Dickinson #1 vs BHS # 112 - Dickinson #5 vs BHS #1 119 - Dickinson # vs BHS #2 125 - Dickinson #2 vs BHS #1 130 - Dickinson #2 vs BHS #1 135 - Dickinson # vs BHS #5 140 - Dickinson #6 vs BHS # 145 - Dickinson # vs BHS # 152 - Dickinson # vs BHS # 160 - Dickinson #4 vs BHS # 171 - Dickinson #1 vs BHS #6 189 - Dickinson #3 vs BHS #2 215 - Dickinson # vs BHS #1 275 - Dickinson # vs BHS # 16 total ranked wrestlers in this dual alone. key matchups: 125, 130, 189 Dickinson has moved Stevenson to 152 in the last week? plus they moved alot of there team up in the upper weights to beat Minot? Could be some shifting of the lineups in this dual? Dickinson Ranked #1 Bimarck Ranked #3 both teams have beaten Minot & West Fargo- the #4 & 2 teams in the state in team rankings. Any predictions in weight classes or outcome? ?

I predict that whomever has the most points at the end of the dual will most likely be the victor.

I think that mellmer is going to get some revenge on stockert this time after a close loss at the rotary, just my opion... could go either way, but no matter what it will be a great match

i think this will be the best duak of the year by far abd possibly a preview of the state dual title match. In my opinion the keys will be the stockert-mellmer matchup and some of the less known wrestlers like hanlon, timali, and matt lund will need to step up and get key wins in order for bhs to win. I also agree that whoever gets the most pins has the edge but either way it will be a great dual. Good luck to all of the wrestlers.

I wish I didn't live 3 hours away. I'd like to see that one. Is any radio stations going to cover this dual?

I think Jon Gums (Dakota Grappler) might be entering regular posts on this web site during the dual as it unfolds? It will be a great dual with lots of good matches.
Good luck wrestlers!

I am going to have (hopefully an internet hook-up is available). I will have a live post (match by match) results.
I will give more details as the week unfolds.

Great job Jon Great to hear that we are going to hype up our great sport. This will be a great test match to get some of the bugs out. It will be great to see this go. Also an idea for a live remote carried out on a radio station like KFYR would great to see. Almost like a live remote play by play. I listen to U of Minnesota live remotes play by play every week we are around. This type of great thinking will only help our great sport. Keith Lang

This doesn't really have anything to do w/the Dickinson/Bismarck match but i didn't know a better place to post this... I just heard on monday that Cavalier is going to have their matches from the regional tournaments on their local radio station, this is a first as long as i've been in the program, it is definately a positive step forward as far as our sport getting some recognition! i remember seeing that harvey has also had radio booths set up the past few years for them. i hope more schools get the coverage that is well deserved for them... keep the progress rolling forward!

I could be wrong but I am thinking Bismarck won't send Stockert out against Mellmer for this dual. Just a hunch.

I could be wrong but I am thinking Bismarck won't send Stockert out against Mellmer for this dual. Just a hunch. Then can everyone start dreaming that Bismarck will bump everyone up a weight and have Lang wrestle Mellmer instead? Seriously, skyeblue may be right. Dickinson and Bismarck alternate a few weights right after 130 with no ranked wrestlers so bumping up may be an option to get more team points. That still won't keep me home tonight....I'm headin' to Dickinson.

I think it all depends on what weight they start. Here is how I think the dual will go. 103-Mellmer over Lund Maj. dec. 112-Sailer over Mellmer dec. 119-Glasser over Glick?? Pin 125-Lang over Halvorson at least a major (Is Jay wrestling?) 130-Mellmer over Stockert dec. (if they wrestle each other) 135-Lund over ? tech or pin 140-Dragseth over Weiss dec. 145-O'brien over Fjeld Maj. 152-Stevenson over Martell Pin 160-Tossup 171-Michaelson over Hanlon dec. 189-Holinka over (is Englehardt wrestling??) If he is, I pick Bismarck in this one by dec. 215-Holinka over 275-Timali over Flohr Again, I figured worst case scenario. It looks to me like some key matches are going to be 103, 130, 140, 160, 215, and hwt. Some of these weights could go either way. It is going to be fun. Good luck to both teams.

Isn't A. Silbernagel going to wrestle? I am assuming he is so I didn't know how the match between him and Kurt Holinka would be with all respects a close contest let alone a toss up. On the other hand I think I would give Brett the upper hand over Engelhardt this whole dual is going to be awesome.

Huskie,
You have some pretty good picks there butyou missed one thing. At 145 I think Mahlum is going to comeback tonight. If he does indeed come back and is 85% or better i would give that match to the Demons. If anyone knows for sure if Mahlum is back let me know right now it just a rumor that I heard.

Also i forgot to mention that yes Englehardt will wrestle at 189 and Silbernagel is a go at 215 both should be good matches with the Holinkas.
