We have talked a lot about individual state titles, now lets hear who you think are some of the best wrestlers that never won a state title.

Cool, I was actually thinking about starting the exact same topic. I would throw the name Justin Spletstoser from Center out there- 2x runner-up. Also, I'm not sure, but did Blain Pagel from Hettinger ever win one? Another I would say would be Tom Bailey from Carrington, I know he won the Rotary his senior year, and also it's most outstanding wrestler award.

Even though he won a state title i think he falls into this category. The guy i am talking about is Todd Huber. This guy won just one state title but was runner up three other times. In my mind he should have won at least two more. When he wrestled Huber was perhaps the toughest leg rider in the state, once he got them in the other wrestler had to work for a stalemate beccause there was no other option.

well if your gonna bring in people who should have won more then they did then shane hase shoulda, he should of won it last year but got injured at state, and i think that maybe ended up causing him to not be on top of his game this year where he probly could have taken out kerr, and possibly even won it his freshman year.

Brian Goethals from belle fourche....was blaced 3rd sophmore and junior year and then was upset at regionals....he wrestled very tough in SD for all of high school and went 3-1 with lang and it was very tite to call the last takedown ....i'd say he was very good for never winnin one

Cederstrom was a very tough wrestler, but was a two-time runner-up. I think he lost a close match to Glenn Shupe of Century in one final and to Matt Berglund of Valley City the next year. Then I think Cederstom went on to be an all-american for Mary. I think Mary had a couple guys like that. Justin Currie and Jeremy Englehardt--National Champs, but did they ever win state?
