I noticed in the recent USA Wrestling magazine that Eric Sabot is ranked third in the nation at his weight. He is ranked right behind Chris Nedens, who is from Montana. That goes to show how tough our midwest wrestlers are to be doing that well as true freshmen. (I believe that Nedens is a sophomore, maybe Lance could clear that up for us.) I was wondering if there was anyone out there who knew about how Logan Kling, Tony Soderberg, Math Bitz (beat #5 guy in a dual) or any others are doing in college. Let us know!!

Huskie,
Nedens, I believe spent one year at Nebraska. I think this was his redshirt year. Would that make him a redshirt freshman? Not sure what you would call it.

I know that JUCO nationals are this coming weekend. I was wondering what Eric Sabot got seeded. Lance, if you read this, could you keep us updated as to how he does this weekend? Tell him good luck!!

I talked with Eric's coach and He told me that they don't seed at this tournament. They draw you in. I don't really understand this. In Eric's region there were 5 ranked wrestlers. Miller who has been ranked number one all year didn't even win a match at regionals and placed fifth out of 5 wrestlers. Eric hasn't met him yet. I talked with Eric on sunday and he said I don't care who I wrestle because they are all tough. I think this says a lot about the quality of wrestlers in JUCO.
Can't wait!

It is a very tough tournament and they draw wrestlers in by separating the different region champs. In NJCAA, it would be almost impossible to seed, as the schools do not have the opportunity to travel as far and see all their opponents. But this all adds up for a very competitive weekend in Rochester, and I wish Eric Sabot luck, as well as any other NoDak wrestler who has qualified.
