no offense but i think that you are crazy! they lost by 39 pts!!! i don't think that any wrestling team would lose by that much and be able to win "if they wanted to." and besides even if they COULD have won why wouldn't they have tried... who wouldn't want to beat an apple valley team, they're perennial power houses in the NATIONAL level of wrestling. i think that Frazee is a very solid team but if they wrestled apple valley ten more times this year they wouldn't get w/in 25 pts of em.

hey, i gotta completely agree with bigdog on this one. apple valley was coming off the heels of absolutely demolishing a very team from iowa that was ranked in the top 2 down there. apple valley is to college wrestlers what the university of miami is to pro football players. it is a virtual factory of talent. i also agree that while frazee is a very tough team, they are somewhat on a lower level than that of apple valley.

the team score was 40-15. Frazee won 5 five matches. They won at 130, 135, 145, 152, 160...they however failed to score bonus points in these matches and that may have made the duel closer. Also, the 140 pound match was very close and could have gone to Frazee, but AV pulled it out. Some of the heavier weights were close as well, even the heavyweight match where Trevor Laws, ranked number 1 in the country beat Olson from Frazee 4-2. Frazee would have to have a very good day and Valley a very bad day for Frazee to win, but they did get some respect for wrestling them fairly tough.

They lost by 39 points and you say they "could have won"? Your right, they could have won if Apple Valley's entire team had spontaneous brain anurisms, maybe if the team would have contracted the Ebola virus...yea that's the ticket.
39 points, god d**n , they couldn't beat Apple Valley if they paid them.

Mr. Stockert, You can go to www.theguillotine.com and then go to the high school scores and get updated on the dual between Frazee/Apple Valley. I think what they mean by bonus points are any points above and beyond just a Decision (3 pts.) as a Major is 4 pts, Tech Fall is 5 pts and a Fall is 6 points; these are all bonus points as I would understand.

A few of my friends went to the dual between AV and Frazee in Perham. From what they said, the matches Frazee won were close, and Apple Valley had a few pins. Apple Valley clearly dominated the dual, and they said that if some matches would have gone the other way it would have been worse. But give credit to Frazee for dualing AV, they are one of the best in the nation.

There is some talk that the tournament committee for the Bismarck Rotary Tournament is trying to add: Apple Valley & Simile from Minnesota into the mix. Trust me folks, this would in turn make this tournament one of the best in the nation.

If we were to get the above mentioned teams by Mr Stockert and others to come to the rotary I think it would not only beneft the recognition of the tournament but that of our local wrestlers as well. People get better by wrestling others that are better than them. It takes a lot more effort to hone your skills and become a better wrestler when you can dominate the other person already, not to start anything by this but take Travis Lang. He would become better faster by wrestling people at his or a lot closer to his ability. Now by adding those other very talented teams it forces us locals to raise our game because no one is going to want to get pounded on every year, plus it would take probably at least four teams that are that good to attract those teams here.
Also about the food thing; I can't agree with you more. It is pathetic, the security walks around like the Gestapo policing everyone and then turn around and charge people three dollars for a drink. I couldn't help but overhear this past weekend ,I visited the Sport Show at the Civic Center, a security gaurd was telling a woman who had a booth she paid hundreds of dollars to have that she couldn't bring in pretzels. Well whats the point? For her booth she was giving out pretzels to test her product and even after telling the security gaurd this he still wasn't going to let her in with the pretzels for her booth. It was the most rediculous thing I have ever seen so it isn't just a rotary problem.
