I see Cyrus Hawkins rated NO. 1, but I have seen very little results from his matches.... especially lately. He wasn't at Brookings. Can anybody tell me what's up with him for sure?
How about ya'll start making some predictions on who is gonna win 160 in the A's, and who will place high...

If you have Steve Atkins placing then you better have Devin Toft form Canton bacause Devin beat steve earlier in the year and would have beat him again if Steve didn't stall his ass of in there last match. I see Toft placing higher than Atkins. Atkins although a good wrestler just doesn't seem to care and only wrestles and hard as he has to and not one bit harder then he has to to win the match if he is up he stalls if he is down he quits i just don't see Atkins placing high if at all at state.

Interesting.... Atkins placed as a Sophmore and Junior. I watched him pin Nebraska's no.3 160 pounder a couple of weeks ago. He may not be real consistant, but he is as strong as an ox, dangerous as anthrax, and has plenty of experience.
Still waiting to see if anybody has word on Cyrus Hawkins status....

Don't know about Hawkins status, but he hasn't wrestled any other of the top rated class A guys that I know of.

Any of those guys could beat any of the others, without anybody being surprised.

Hawkins had a sprained ankled, thats why he missed Brookings...but he's back now. he walked through the NEC tournament with 3 pins and was the most valuable wrestler. at the SF Lincoln Tournament in December Hawkins was schooling Atkins and then pinned him, I think he has what it takes to win it this year.

Cy's an animal. I have no doubt he'll win it. SF tourney is about as tough as state, some years tougher and he won that.

lincoln tourney as tough as state? sheesh what planet are you from? It is a good tournament, but be real.
I didn't see watertwon, stevens, winner, mitchell or yankton there.... they are the top five rated teams, so how do you back up that statement again?

Back that up? Easy. 140lb 'A' was weak in '98 I should know, i took third and i've never considered myself that good. I placed 4th at sioux Falls that year, same weight. State champ that year placed third. Brett Hudson? of harrisburg took second, Hannon Hisek of Bon Homme. At the time they had something like 5 state titles between them. Either one of them would have cleaned house in the state a tourney. Theres out of state tournaments that are very tough too.
