Seems most teams have made it to Christmas Break fairly healthy, except for a few minor injuries here and there. But, what are some early surprises or disappointments in South Dakota from December, both team and individual??

I dont know about many individual disappointments, but i know bon homme isnt wrestling up to their potential, but i know they will turn it on anytime soon...surprises in the team, parkston is a good team as well as stanley county from what i've seen. there were a few upsets at the madison tournament on saturday, 2 number one seeds were beat out of the tournament. Elk Point Jefferson and Parkston tied for the team title, followed by Milbank. Parkston had one champ, meyer pulling off an upset over coleman at 35, and epj had 3 in dpirner, mdonnelly, and dmitchell. saturday is the lincoln invite, this tournament will be down this year, with howard and harrisburg both down from recent years.

The biggest suprise is that there doesn't seem to be any clear cut favorite in either the A's or B's. This is shaping up to possibly be the most well balanced State Tournaments in a long time, especially in the B's.

I don't know about the B's, but in the A's it's stacking up to be a knock-down, drag-out fight between about 6 teams. No one has established any kind of dominance yet, but in the duals, right now it looks like Yankton may be the team to beat. The individual tournament title is going to be close. SDHSAA might want to order a few extra torphies in case of a tie between a couple teams ;D!

One of the biggest surprises I've seen is Andy Benson from Sioux Valley. He is wrestling unbelievable lately.
