Thank you Coach, for seeing my side of the story. Yes, Hettinger is in the boonies, but Coach is right. Dusty has manhandled every opponent this year. Taylor Jenner is a superb wrestler and Dusty went out and took care by pin. He was beating him by over 10 points before he pinned him. As far as him wrestling Michaelson, don't be saying that it wouldn't even be a match. If Vliem and Michaelson wrestled, it would be worth the price of addmission. As far as some other guys in the Class B country, Seth Murphy, Karter Kleeman, Ben Imdieke. Those are some guys that should be looked at alot better. Karter Kleeman wrestled Kelly Padden of Harding County SD. in Hettinger in Jan. and beat him. If you guys don't know, Padden is one of SD's #1 wrestlers. Ben Imdieke, a junior and allready a two-timer, Seth Murphy, undefeated and pretty much has been in control of all his matches this year. Had only like 4 loses last year. Thanks Coach for being able to see the class "B" side of things. Trust me, there is plenty of other class "B" wrestlers out there who I didn't mention that needs to be regognized and appreciated also. You go and watch some of those class "a" teams and see how many of them get so pissed off when small class "b" school go and win or are in the finals. There is class "b" kids that go and beat kids that win state at their weight class in "a" and the class "B" guy ends up taking 5 or 6, that just shows how much talent there is in class "B"

I agree I can name a few weight classes in class b that are loaded 103,125,215,275. I will give examples, the Weigel kid at 103 took 3rd in the rotary will probably be seeded 4th at 103 in class b. Kyle McCleary took 3rd at the Rotary and could be seeded anywhere form 1-4 in class b.Their are alot of good wrestlers in class b. Lang and Mellmer(103) would have way more competition at their weights if they were in the b tournament. I think they both would win but they would have their hands full with the likes of Bateman,Weigel,Kerr(103)Kerr,Hase,Haugen(125).

I have to disagree with you DFreeman. I feel that Lang and Mellmer could possibly tech or pin their way through their weight class in either class A or class B. Hase and Kerr are no where near Lang in technique. Lang wrestles more matches in one year then some wrestlers do in three. Mellmer's (103) technique is excellent for a freshman. I don't think that either of these two guys would be challenged in either class A or class B.

I disagree with you Huskie!! Mr. Mellmer (103) won the Mandan Tourney against Mr. Engraf from Hettinger, (a class "B" wrestle) 15-9. I don't think that's considered a dominating match. If you don't know, Mr. Engraf is one of the top 4 wrestlers in his weight class in class "B". You can also take a look at all the state CHAMPS and state runner-ups in the class "B" weight class. Heck, look at all the state placers in the weight class. I don't think that Mr. Lang would just walk through it like nothing. You would never know what would happen. NOTHING IS JUST A CAKE WALK in the class "B" scene.

I personally think that Luke Sundby does not get the recognition that he deserves. When he was a freshman he took 4th at the rotary and 4th at state. Sophomore 4th at rotary and won state. Jr. year third at rotary(Tucker Michels SD) beat him in the semis, and 2nd at state behind Michelson. This year 2nd at rotary. The last two years only state champions have beat him. Norberg, Killdeer, Michelson, Danny White, Tucker Michels, last year he broke the state pin record at 152 recording 32 pins (beating a kid from Century) Williston also does not get much media publicity and the coach does not single out kids to recognize very much. Luke is a good physical, strong wrestler, technically sound, with many, many moves and I believe he can beat white at state if they meet.

I think that Coach is right on the class "B" wrestlers not getting any attention. It's about time some people start looking at them. Nice comments Coach.

I understand that Luke Sundby is a good wrestler, but I would like to point out some class b wrestlers are quite well as well. Earlier this year Killdeer's 152 pounder lost to sundby by 1 point, this kid from killdeer will probably not be seded in the top 6 in class b just to point out. He has been beat by klein (bowman) many times by more than one point, probly even pinned a couple times, also kevin mccleary beat killdeer's 152 along with Ben Imdieke, all these were well above 1 point deficits too, many major and i believe maybe a tech. Just thought it would be nice for people to know class b is well represented too...thank you for your time

I will agree Lang has better technique then Hase or Kerr but Mellmer has better technique the Stockert and look what happened at the Rotary. I was very very impressed with Kerr at the East-West, I thought Hase would handle him and Kerr has one of the best single legs I have seen in a while. I've said it before, guys like Hase and Kerr are not flashy they just win. I still think either of these guys would give Lang all he wanted, hopefully whoever wins the title in class b goes for the triple crown and meets up with Lang and as far as Jake Mellmer, noway would he pin or tech his way through class b. Bateman has looked great after suffering a couple early defeats, If I had to bet I would bet on Lang to win at 125 but I wouldn't bet any money on Mellmer because it is to close to call, maybe someday North Dakota will only have 1 class in wrestling, then this will all be settled.

if your main reason for wrestling in ND is just to get publicity then your wrestling in the wrong state. sure everyone wants to see their face in the sport spotlight or wants to be on the new for some great accomplishment that he achieved, just dont come on here and try to get people to look at your buddy or yourself because you feel that you're doing and outstanding job and no one knows you. personnally i think you should be out there to wrestle and not care about who is wondering about you. dont get me wrong guys but publicity is a great thing, just dont try to force your name into a conversation so someone thinks about your name when you're called to the head table. get out there and wrestle for yourself, not your news time.

Dusty Vliem is an excellent wrestler, but no one is talking about Matt Kittelson from Velva who lost a 2-1 decision to Vliem. Matt Kittelson also beat Jenner.
