There were many good wrestlers at state this year. Who do you think was the most dominate. Who do you think was upset? Who was a underdog. Who is the next up and coming star?

I am not saying he is the best up and coming talent but he had a heck of a year and state tournament. I had mentioned him before on another post sophomore Kevin Martian out of Mandan at 215. Wow, what a job this kid did! He was never ranked the whole year, got seeded 6th took Nicholson (2nd Place State) to overtime, then beat Miller who was seeded 4th, and did a great job against Hoag before getting pinned in the last twenty seconds. He finished fourth at state in only his second year ever wrestling and will be the top returning placer next year at his weight and he still will have two years left. Great Job Kevin!

Overall, I would have to say that the most impressive of all the wrestlers there was indeed Travis Lang. He appeared to be the most dominating high school wrestler I have personally watched wrestle with the exception of perhaps Marcus Lavesseur. After that, there were a few others, such as Ben Imdieke, Matt Michaelson, Joe Irmen, and Brendan Flynn. All of these guys were very fun to watch and some won with ease. Actually, I can't really forget about Levi Haugen. It's just hard to believe that he's only a junior.

How about Hettinger's 171 pounder? He's only a sophomore, Dusty Swanson made me watch his matches and i dont think i saw anyone except maybe the guy he wrestled in the finals finish a takedown on him..thats impressive
