For as long as I can remember the A fans and the B fans both think their class is tougher than the other. I wonder who would win if the A state champs would duel the B state champs. Would like intellegent replies, not just, "the B's are better" or "the A's rule!"
ready?.......... go!

wins would be 7 for the b's, 7 for the A's....it's hard to say where bonus points would come into play..who's going to win it at 103 in the A's?

I think you may be right. Major decisions, tech falls and pins would probably make the difference. What weights do you think are a lock for the B's and then for the A's?

Here are my A vs B "sure picks": 119 Class A Nick Smith Yankton 130 Class B Derek Pirner EPJ 152 Class A Jason Oral Winner 171 Would be Class A Tucker Michels Stevens if healthy, but is now Class B Andrew Sinclair Gregory 189 Class B Michael Veskrna Gregory 215 Class B Kelly Padden Harding County The other weights would be hotly contested. Anyone have other ideas? ?

here are the sure lock ups in my mind: 103- Thomas (SF Roosevelt) 125- Sutera (Bon Homme) 140- Lemke (West Central) 145- Konechne (Kimball) 152- Orel (Winner) 171- Sinclair (Gregory) 189- Veskrna (Gregory) HWT- Johnson (Brookings)
the others could probably go either way

WrestlerDad, In my opinion, Kelly Padden wouldnt have a chance in the A's, he would be eliminated in the 215lb wieght class. All the guys in that weight, are so mcuh tougher, especially Lynde From Canton. He is a good solid wrestler, especially when he only wieghs in the lower 80's, and is beating the best in the state when he has a chance. Like for instance beating Frosty Paris from Sturgis and haveing some good matches with Andy Smit. I know that the state tourney is still a way yet and that is where they separate the men from the boys, but the A's are alot tougher at the upper weights and Padden wouldnt have a chance. And if u guys think i am dogging Padden, i am not, cuase i dont bring others down!

Tiny76, yes if you mean upper weights being 215 and HWT, but even as a class A fan I think the B's have it at 171 and 189 the only question would be if Walker could happen to get Veskrena, but they won't see each other again. I have figured the state champ duel on paper several different ways and the best I can come up with is 7-7 or 8-6 either way. So, this year it is a close one!

Pirner... my opinion is that Walker only wrestles as hard as he really has too... sometimes he will step it up depends on the person he is wrestling, he beat veskerna last year(yes a year ago and veskerna beat him later that year) and it was pretty close with him and veskerna at winner, but I think veskerna pretty much controlled that match, but you never know if walker could get lucky and get that guillatine on veskerna...

yeah i'm stuck at 160 .. nah its not that bad... 152 and 160 are all about the same competitive wise, other than having to wrestle guys that are cutting from 170 to 160 where as I only weigh 157 with a full stomach... but ohh well its all good... its all fun to me n e how

Tiny76: Padden just manhandled Hoag (#2 in ND class A) at the Belle Fourche tournament. I guarantee you that Frosty Paris wouldn't even start Padden. I haven't seen Smit or Lynde so I can't say there. But you obviously haven't seen Padden wrestle this year. I stand by my pick.
