Again I think that Napoleon has too many studs coming back. But watch out for Center/New Salem, Carrington and Minot Ryan.

It is going to be close in the top 3 this year. Look for Napoleon, Center/New Salem and Carrington to fight for the top spot. Also Minot Ryan, Linton, Hettinger, Kindred, Killdeer, Hillsboro and Harvey will be tough.

i think you may think because of last year that the black devils may have fallen off the class b track, but you are in for a surprise. they have a very strong team as always.

Ready For an Upset......I agree a person better not overlook the black devils. Any team that has went down there to dual knows about how the blackdevils can rise to the occasion. The key to beating the blackdevils is to get there coaches out all night so they don't get the kids up and ready in time. Its fun to speculate who is going to be at the top in the end, but alot can happen between now and February that can swing the penduluum in another teams favor. Looking at returning kids, initially a person has to look at napolean to win it. After that a person just has to wait and see where and how far the kids have come and whether ineligibility or injuries play a part.

I'm sorry guys, but you better watch out for those Black Devils. I believe that they have 12 or 13 wrestlers with state tourney experience. I believe in the past some of those wrestlers have even placed alot higher than what they where seeded. Randy Burwick will have them ready to go and look out. I think that Napoleon has peaked too soon. Now it's all on them to win. Hettinger has no pressure and Randy's team will eat that up!!! I believe Hettinger will make alot of noise and be out to prove all whose wrote them off. I know Randys' intensity he gives those kids. I was one of them.

How can you say Napoleon has peaked too early? If that were the case they would have peaked the first tournament. They have dominated all year. And in my opinion Minot Ryan is right behind Napoleon before Hettinger would be.

Look back at all the #1 ranked wrestling teams going into the state tournament and tell me if all of them ended up in first at the end. You won't be able to. In 1996 Hettinger was ranked 5th going into the state tourny and ended up 1st. The usual powerhouse like Hillboro, that is always in the top 3 in the rankings haven't placed there the last few years. It doesn't matter how many kids a team gets in the finals, championships are won and lost in the wrestlebacks. Pressure is alot of it too. You going to tell me that every #1 ranked wrestler is going to finish 1st? Let me know if that ever happens. I'm not taking anything away from Napoleon, or anyteam in that matter, it just shows from past results that teams peak way to soon and don't finish where they are set at. University of Minnesota won the NCAA championship with no one in the finals. That there just proves that it's a "team" sport. When state tournament time comes around it's a whole new season and experience always has the advantage.
