I think Walker will end up taking it all. He took 2nd last year, only losing to Oviatt (43-0). Watching that match, I still think Walker had a chance to beat Oviat..but Oviatt was staling kind of. I guess you do whatever it takes to win. This year is definately Walkers year. Swenson, Im sorry, but I think Pavich from Spearfish will take 2nd...he's been showing outstanding wrestling skills.

I'm not sure about pavich. He has good skills, but I'm not sure he is physical enough. I watched him get stuck last weekend by Rislov (4th rated b kid from philip) Rislov just plain out powered him.

I don't think walker is going to take it all. I watched him at the Brookings tourney and he didn't even look good he only wrestles as hard as he needs to, to win the match. Hell Kadinger from West Central the 3rd or 4th rated kid in the A's was beating him for most of their match. I am just dissapointed that swenson lost in the quarters because he would have handed walker his ass in the finals. So i guess we will just have to wait till state to that happen.

Heh, Johnnyboy, too bad he got his butt stuck by a average wrestler. It's also too bad he couldn't make the finals against Walker so we could tech fall him again just like we did last year - IN THE SECOND PERIOD.

I wouldn't call the kid that cought swenson in a headlock and average wrestler he is rated third in minnesota and swenson was beating him when he got caught. And sdhusker i would like to know how you and walker are going to tech fall swenson in the second when only one person can wrestle him. And that was last year maybe it is time to start looking toward the future like March 1st when we can finally see who the best 189lbr in the state is and i can tell you where i am putting my money and that is on SWENSON.

Swenson is a big, strong, good wrestler, but jez.... I just don't see it..... Sorry!
I believe Walker went undefeated at the disney duals last summer... That is against the best wrestlers in the nation, isn't it?
Good luck to him and all, but I don't see how he could have improved his abilities enough to overcome a 15 point loss from last year, when considering Walker was actively improving his abilities last summer.

The post was the BEST 189lb'r and i dont believe that Swenson or Walker could hang with Veskerna or even naasz for that matter.

Hey 2nd sucks, I admit Veskerna is a horse but Walker manhandled Naasz already this year.

Ya Walker whooped up on Naasz pretty bad. Veskrana beat Walker 8-6, and really that one could have went eitherway. So, some of you should do a little research before you "woof-off" too much. (2nd sucks) However, Veskrana is one amazing physical speciman, extremly quick for his size and just an overall great athlete. The only way to beat him is with a stick, I think.

walker beat naasz 6-2. I'm not sure that defines whooped up on, really bad. None the less it's impressive.

I said "pretty bad" not "really bad" lol It's the fact that he totally controled the match I was speaking of more than score. ;D

i guess swenson wasn't everything you guys thought he was. but fourth in the state isnt bad. the sad part is that he wouldn't have even placed in the top five in the b's. I would have liked to had walker there though. I would like to have seen him and williamson wrestle, it would have been a great match. Williamson is greatly under rated as a sd 189 pounder.
